Potassium ChloridePotassium Chloride's chemical compund is KCl (potassium and chloride). Potassium Chloride is used as lethal injection in the U.S.Normal amounts of potassium chloride is completely fine, but if you overdose, it causes the heart to stop functioning. It is also used in fertilizer.

Humphry Davy is the one who discovered potassium in London during 1807, extracting it from caustic potash (Potassium Hydroxide). Potassium is the first element to be isolated using electrolysis(chemical decomposition using an electric current).
