Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens was an English writter and social critic. His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime, and by the twentieth century critics and scholars had recognised him as a literary genius. He was born in Porthsmouth. He left school to work in a factory when his father was incarcerated in a debtors' prison. He edited a weekly journal for 20 years, wrote 15 novels, five novellas, hundreds of short stories and non-fiction articles, lectured and performed extensively, was an indefatigable letter writer, and campaigned vigorously for children's rights, education, and other social reforms.

Who is he and where did he live did he live?

It was written in 1843. It was bitter cold, had storms, and blizzards.My favorite scene from A Christmas Carol is when Scrooge is visited by the 3 ghosts.

His brother died in September of 1814 of brain inflation. Moves out to London after his brother dies. His father went jail in February 2, 1824. His Father was released on May 28, 1824. He falls in love with a young woman in 1830, but her parents disaproved and she is sent back to school in Paris to keep her away from him. He published "A Dinner at Popular Walk" in 1833. He marries Catherine Hogarth on April 2, 1836. Has his first child in 1837. Has his second in 1838. Has his third in 1839. Has a fourth child in 1841. Has a fith child in 1844. Has a sixth child in 1845. Has hid seventh child in 1847. Has his eighth child in 1849. Has his nighnth child in 1850. His Father and nighnth child 1851. Has tenth child in 1852. Divorses and remarries in 1857. Mother and fourth child dies in 1863. He dies on June 9, 1870.
