CHAPPARAL

By Josh Haft and Anna Gray

AND IAN WOLFF

The chapparal, or Temperate Woodland, has a very dry and hot climate. While it has a mild winter, the summers can reach up to 40 °C It has various terrains, such as mountainous slopes and rocky plains. The chapparal is mainly located in the mediterranean and on the west coast of North America.

Wildfires are common in the chapparal biome, especially in the California chapparal. The wildfires are caused by the extremely dry and hot climate.
