Chameleons

Emalyn and Zada

Chameleons have five toes on each foot. Their front feet have three toes on the inside and two on the outside and their back feet are the opposite. This allows them to grip things well.

Their shoulder blades move with their legs. This helps them to reach farther out.

Their backs are high and rounded. This helps them to balance on branches.

Behavoural adaptations Chameleons can change colors to blend into their environment and hide from preditors. They also move slowly and stealthily.

Chameleons live mainly in Madigascar, Tanzania. However they can also be found in Southern Europe and Asia.

They have a long tail that can be longer than their body. This allows them to wrap their tail around branches and hang from trees.

Chameleons can move their eyes in separate directions to see all around them.

The chameleon can live almost anywere from the desert to the rain forest. To dry places to wet places these animals adapt to their habitat very well.
