Cerebellar Hypolasia

Cause: number of congenital malformation sydnromes such as metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative disorders.

Treatment:depends on underlying disorder, treatment is only supportive

In animals the cerebellum is not completely developed or smaller than normal

Symptoms:floppy muscle tone, speech delay, seizures, problems with walking and balance, involuntary movement of eyes

A cat that has cerebellar hypoplasis can grow accustomed to these conditions, however many are put down. Cats should not be let outside because they have no defense against predators.

The cerebellum controls motor skills and coordination.

It is not contagious or painful. Normal life expectancy.
