1838- Jakob Shlieden was the first to say that all plants are made up of cells.
1855- RudolphVirchow was the first to demonstrate that the cell theory applies to diseased tissue
1833-Robert brown discovered the nucleus in plant cells
1676-Anton Van Leewenvoek was considered the father of microbiology because he created a microscope that could see such small things he discovered bacteria.
1859- Louis Pasteur disproved spontaneous generation and was the first to show that living things come from living things. Which contributed to the development of the cell theory
1839-Theodor Schwann was a master microscopist who extended Schlieden's cell theory to animals, stating that all living things are composed of cells not just plants.
The Cell Theory:1.) All organisms consist of one or more cells.2.) The cell is the basic unit of structure for all organisms.3.) Cells only come from other cells.
1 Exceptions to the Cell Theory:One exception of the Cell Theory are Viruses. Viruses are an exception because they are considered alive, but they aren't made up of cells.
