Cell Structure & Function!!

golgi apparatus!

endoplasmic reticulum!

The nucleus is control center and contains cell's DNA. The plasma membrane is the support and protetion system of the cell.

The ribosomes are the sites of protien synthesis. The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, it's where ATP production occurs.

ribosome!

mitochondria!

The smooth ER is free of ribosomes and digests toxins while being a storage organelle. The rough ER has ribosomes attatched, as it synthesizes, packages, and transports protiens.

The vacuole is a nutrient, water, and food storage container. (Smaller version can be found in animal cell.)The cell wall is made of cellulose and is a protective support structure. The chloroplast is the site of photosynthesis; it produces a plant's food.

Animal Cell

The golgi aparatus is a packaging and modification organelle that works with the ER to make vesicles and transport protiens throughout cells.
