7-3:Cell Boundaries
7-2:Eukaryotic Cell Structure
7-1:Life is Celluar
The Cell: The basic units of life
Cell Theory:Mutiple summarized statements about cells which led to fundamental concept of biology.
All living things are composed of cells.
Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things
New cells are made from existing cells.
There are two different types of cells.
Prokaryote: No Nucleus
Eukaryote: Contains Nucleus
Organelles: Small individual parts with specialized instructions.
There are several organelles within the Eukaryotic cell.
Organelles within Nucleus:Nuclear EnvelopeChromatinNucleolus
Organelles within Cytoplasm:RibosomesERGolgi ApparatusLysosomesVacuolesMitochondria
There are two different cells that have a difference in organelles.
Plant Cells: These cells do contain chloroplasts and are surrounded by a Cell Wall.
Animal Cells: These cells do not have Chloroplasts ora cell well.
ChloroplastsCytoskeleton
There are two different boundaries in a cell: Cell Wall and Cell Membrane
Particles pass these boundaries through diffusion.
Osmosis is a type of diffusion where molecules diffuse through a selectively permaeable membrane.
Facilitated Diffusion and Active Transport are other modes of diffusion.
Endocytosis and Exocytosis
