CCUEN Environmental Education Conference
How will I connect what I learned at the CCUEN Conference to my work as a museum educator? How can I bring environmental education and Indigenous EE into museum education?I definitely felt inspiration to create environmental changes in my life after attending Thursday and Friday. MOST IMPORTANT: Bring social, environmental issues into my work. Create programs with them as central issue or intertwined, discuss different world views and perspectives.-pollinator declines. plant/allow wild flowers to grow. native/local species. plant flowers that bloom at different times - bees need food throughout year!-rely on and promote Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) in ecology studies, incorporate different knowledges-incorporate into all subjects-incorporate cwelelep, kamucwkalha, celhcelh, emhaka7, a7xekcal, kat'ila into nsnuk'wnuk'w7a (means: education, family, community, gathering, ancestors, descendents, earth, water, sky, air, plants, sun, moon, stars, animals)-Humility, respect-"Rocks are our grandfathers, plants are our grandmothers" - Cease Wyss-Each collaboration is different, communities are unique
