Causes and Effects of World War I

MILITARISM- The belief of making the military stronger from any other country.ALLIANCES - one country will joined to the other country or joined forces.IMPERIALISM - the belief that stronger country would took over the weaker countryNATIONALISM - people in a country believe that their country is the best ASSASINATION - the assasination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand

Alliance or agreements between governments to fight together againnst any threats.

Beginning of WWI

Nationalism or a feeling of intense pride of ones homeland had become a powerfull idea in Europe. On June 28, 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assasinated. He was assasinated when he visited the city of Sarajevo in the Austria-Hungary province of Bosnia-Herzegovina.




The political changes effected by World War I were reflected best in the decline of the empires. The economic strain caused by World War I resounded through Europe and the rest of the world. With the men having joined the war, the women of most countries took over businesses and establishments.

U.S. got involved in WW1

The Lusitania, a brittish passenger ship, was sunk by a German U-boat (submarine). It has hundreds of U.S. citizen on board. Germany agrees to President Wilson to stop sinking ships. But in 2 years they started sinking some merchant ships. they sunk 5 merchant ships. Germany's secretary Arthur Zimmermann (Zimmermann Telegram) offered the mexican about taking their land back if they're going to join the central power.

The U.S. military uses the strategy called Trench Warfare against Germany and Austria- Hungary.


Allied powers: France, Great Britain, & Russia.Central powers: Germany and Austria - Hungrary.
