Carbon Cycle

Carbon Cycle

In the atmosphere carbon is attached to some oxygen and a gas called carbon dioxide.

Plants use carbon dioxide and sunlight to make their own food and grow. The carbon becomes part of the plant.

Animals cellular resperate. This process takes in oxygen and releases carbon into that atmosphere.

When organisms decompose they release carbon in the soil which is eventually cycled through.

The ocean contains water, which cosists of carbon and two oxygen. It either stays or evaporates into the atmosphere.

The dead organisms and waste turn into fossil fuels.Carbon is #4 on the most abundant elements in the universe list
