 CARACALS

Caracals are typically nocturnal hunters. They are carnivores. Caracals hunt animals such as Jerboas, Sand Rats, Ground Squirles, Hyrax, Reedbuck, Duiker, and Guinie Fowl.

The caracal's scientific name is Caracal caracal.

The Caracal is slender and graceful. It has reddish-brown fur, black stripes from its nose to its eyes,and black tufts of fur on the tips of its ears. The caracal's length when it is full grown is 92 cm.It also has round pupils rather than slits. Some noises it makes are hissing, growling, coughing, and meowing. The Caracal can also jump 3 meters.

Caracals live in mostly Southern and Eastern Africa. Their habitat is the African savanah. They are not endangered, they are in the catagory of least concern.
