Cancer Awareness

On an economic standpointScarcity- Cancer connects to scarcity because cancer patients want to live longer and healthier lives than they have been told they are going to live. And we can try and help them do this by volunteering, but it comes at a price.Opportunity cost- Cancer connects to opportunity cost because, sure your sacrificing your free time of doing whatever activities you chose, however the opportunity to help people in need and volunteer your services to cancer patients or even donate is far better then doing anything else. Production- Cancer connects to production because there was a creation of value objects you can buy, for example nail polish, and with your purchase a certain amount of the profit towards cancer research and its patients. Consumption- Volunteering for cancer connects to consumption because, you are using up your free time in order to volunteer. An in some other ways of supporting cancer patents and research is buying or consuming products that the profit goes to cancer organizations, in order to work on life saving research. Interdependence- Supporting cancer organizations and patients connects to interdependence because, there are two parties relying on each other. The cancer patients and organizations are relying on the servies of volunteers and supporters of cancer.

Over 2 million skin cancers are diagnosed every year.3. In 2012 there were approximately 13.7 million Americans with a history of cancer alive.4.​There are over 100 types of cancer. And any part of the body can be affected.5. About 77 percent of all cancers are diagnosed in people 55-years or older.6. Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the U.S. It accounts for nearly 1 in 4 deaths.7. Excluding skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.8.The most common cancers among men are: prostate, lung, and colorectal (colon) cancer.9. Anyone can develop cancer, however, the risk of getting it increases with age.10. Many cases could be prevented by taking necessary precautions. (i.e. protecting skin from excessive sun exposure and avoiding indoor tanning.)

I am very passionite about this topic becasue my cousin had Lukemia and with the help of these types of organizations he is now cancer free for six years! Love you Dylan!
