Canadian Decades- 1970s

The Air Canada Flight 621 crash near Toronto Pearson International Airport, took place on July 5, 1970, when the flight was attempting to land. The aircraft striked the ground and killing all 100 passengers and the nine crew members on board. It was Canada's second deadliest aviation accident.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau, was the 15th Prime Minister of Canada from April 20, 1968 to June 4, 1979, and again from March 3, 1980 to June 30, 1984.

The 70's were a time of disco parties, Hard-core rock and roll, Dancing and pet rocks.

During the 1960s, a national liberation movement sprang up in Quebec, calling for an independent province. One of its means of action was terrorism. In October 1970, a Quebec minister and a British diplomat were kidnapped.

The popularity of disco dancing spread outside the discos and night clubs. The biggest tage in the late1970s was relloer disco.
