1.Canada's Food Guide is a nutrition guide produced by Health Canada. It is the second most requested Canadian government publication behind the Income Tax Forms.2.Canada’s Food Guide is used by many Canadians to find a good, healthy diet. It helps them stay away from foods that seem ok, but that are actually bad for you.•That exercising regularly and eating well not only keeps you in shape but it decreases stress, and it allows you to stay more independent when you get old.

Following Canada’s Food Guide is proven by many sources, including the Heart ' Stroke Foundation to help reduce the chances of having a heart attack or a stroke.

•Canada's first food guide was introduced in July 1942 to provide guidance to Canadians on proper nutrition during a period of time when wartime rations were common. The 1942 version was called the Official Food Rules. In 1944 the guide was revised and renamed Canada's Food Rules. In 1962, the guidelines were revised and renamed to Canada's Food Guide

Canadians eat about 3400 mg of sodium each day. This is more than double the amount we need.

This means that all food companies have to include nutrition labeling on their prepackaged foods.• It is recommended that adults accumulate at least 2 ½ hours of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week and that children and youth accumulate at least 60 minutes per day.
