CanadaKlondike Gold RushBy: Bernard Medeiros

People came to the Yukon Territory in search of gold. Gold had been discovered in Yukon's Klondike region. This discovery brought many changes to Yukon.

People quit their jobs and traveled north. By 1898, about 100,000 people had left for the Klondike in search of gold. One of the world's greatest gold rushes had begun.

About 100,000 people went to look for gold, but the journey was hard and only about 40,000 people arrived.

This prospector looks for gold in the Klondike region of The Yukon.

Prospectors would be policed by Mounties as they mined for gold.

This is a boomtown, towns which were made just to acomodate miners needs.
