The Beggining
by the 1930, 30% of the labour force was out of work. one fith of the population was depending on the governments assistance.
The great deppression ended on 1939 when World War 2 started creating jobs in the military.
canada was hit hard by the great drepression, the gross national product dropped 40%, while unemployment reached 27% by 1933
By 1930 saskatchewan started to suffer from a drought causing the provincial income to drop 90% in wo years!
The Great Deppression started in the US but quickly hit Canada, hard. most people think the depression came to canada when the trade induststry crashed

By the 1937 price forwheat dropped from$1.60 to $0.28 because of the drought. but thankfully the drought ended in 1937.
