Cameroon
Aside from early prehistoric inhabitants, Cameroon was first colonized by Germany. The Germans made significant improvements to its infrastructure. During World War I Cameroon was invaded by the British and after the war, its colony was divided up between the United Kingdom and France. After a long armed struggle French Cameroon achieved its independence in 1960.
The official languages of Cameroon are French and English. With some people speaking other African languages.
Cameroon has a democracy and holds an election to determine their president. The Presidents term lasts 7 years and can be elected twice. The President appoints a Prime Minister and a Council of Ministers. The Council implements the policy of the nation which is defined by the President. Legislative power resides with The National Assembly and the Senate.
