In the very beginning, was the abacus, a sort of hand operated mechanical calculator using beads on rods, first used by Sumerians and Egyptians around 2000 BC.
Calculators are now made of cheap thin plastic. They have changed drasticly in a way that they have become elecronic and not manual. They have also decreased in size.
A calculator is a device that performs arithmetic operations on numbers. Simple calculators can do only addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Today's more sophisticated calculators can handle exponent ial operations, roots, logarithm s, trigonometric functions, and hyperbolic functions.
