Brain tumor

A brain tumor or intracranial neoplasm occurs when abnormal cells form within the brain. There are two main types of tumors: malignant or cancerous tumors and benign tumors.

Brain Tumor

Symptoms-Headaches.-Single or multiple muscle twitches, jerks, spasms.-Loss of consciousness and body tone, followed by twitching and relaxing muscles that are called contractions.-Loss of control of body functions.-May be a short 30-second period of no breathing and a person may turn a shade of blue.-Nausea or vomitingMost brain tumors are not diagnosed until after symptoms appear.

-There is to types of brain cancer. There is primary tumor which is an tumor occurs in the brain, and there is secondary tumor which occurs in other parts of the body and then and then spreads to the brain.

Treatment-SurgerySurgery is the removal of the tumor and surrounding tissue during an operation. It is usually the first treatment used for a brain tumor and is often the only treatment needed for a low-grade brain tumor.-Radiation therapyRadiation therapy is the use of high-energy x-rays or other particles to destroy cancer cells.-ChemotherapyChemotherapy is the use of drugs to destroy cancer cells, usually by stopping the cancer cells’ ability to grow and divide.

Personal experienceI lost my dad to brain cancer in 2012. The diagnosis was not easy for anyone, and it came as a shock on the intire family.He was only 35 years old when he wasdiagnosed. He lived with it for manyyears, but in the end it became aggressive and the doctores could not do anything anymore.
