Defenions:Gray Matter:the darker tissue of the brain and spinal cord, consisting mainly of nerve cell bodies and branching dendrites.

According to research exercise is important for brain health growth.Main Idea:How physical exercise helps your brain and what you can do. Example 1:When you physicaly exercise blood vessels grow in your brain. (Heidi Godman)Example 2:Track your progress, which encourages you to reach a goal. (Heidi Godman)Example 3:Arobic exercise increases gray matter which is important for memory. (Christopher Bergland)Main Idea:Mental exercise and the brain.Example 1:Dont practice something your good at because it wont be a good exercise. (Melinda Smith)Example 2:Starting something easy and working your way up it untill it gets harder is good practice for improving the brain. (Melinda Smith)Example3:Your brain can learn from enjoyable and satisfying activitys.

Problem:Can I improve my brain health if I physicaly exercise 30 minutes each day in a week.Research:When you physicaly exercise blood vessels grow in your brain. (Heidi Godman)Arobic exercise increases gray matter which is important for memory. (Christopher Bergland)Your brain can learn from enjoyable and satisfying activitys. (Melinda Smith)Hypothesis:If I physicaly exercise 30 minutes each day then my brain health will improve.Materials List:Tredmill, Rowing machine, Data tableProcedure:1. Create a data table2. Exercise 30 minutes a day.3. Continue step 2 for 2 and a half weeks.

AnalysisNotices: In my case study data, I noticed that the time I worked out stayed the same for all the days exept for the 13th. On the 13th I used the rowing machine for 15 minutes instead of joging. I noticed most of the days I reached my goal of 30 minutes a day for 12 days. In my testing data, I noticed that my scores jumped up and down between all 5 of my tests. My fact recall scores kept going from high to low and my memory tests seem to do the same thing.Trends:There is a pattern in my daily data of 30 minutes a day for 6 days in a row. On day 7 I took a walk for the same amount of time. Then I joged for 2 more days then got on the rowing machine on day 10 for 15 minutes. For the last 3 days I joged. I did not see a conection between the daily data and the testing data. The daily data seemed mostly consistant where the testing data was very inconsistant.Concusion: The hypothesis for my case study was if I physicaly exercise 30 minutes each day, then my brain health will increase. The hypothesis was supported by my brain health data. The data shows an increase in fact recall and memory tests. The problem for my case study was, can I improve my brain health if I physicaly exercise 30 minutes each day in a week. Based on my data, I did increase my brain health. On both of the tests I took 5 times I did do better at the end. When doing daily data on the 13 I did not reach my goal of 30 minutes a day and only did it for 15 minutes. I only did 15 minutes because pulling on a rowing machine is hard, but next time I will push my self and try harder. Now I want to know how efective cardio exercise is compared to endurance and strength.
