Climate and WeatherBoreal forests have exteremly cold winters, with temperatures almost always below zero, but it's cold all year round. The forests get about 15-20 inches of precipitation a year, most of which is snow. Make sure to bring a warm coat, gloves or mittens, and other cold weather gear.
WildlifeA variety of animals live in the boreal forest. Species that live here must be able to withstand temperatures well below zero, so most animals have thick fur or feathers to protect them. Plants also need adaptations to retain water, as much of it is lost as ice.
Where will I stay?In the boreal forest, a variety of lodging opportunities are avaliable. Try staying at Treehotel in Harads, Sweden, with contemporary-style rooms suspended in the woods. For a more traditional experience, just camp out under the stars- and the northern lights.
