Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk, By: David Sedaris
The book Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk has no main characters because it is just a book with a bunch short stories. The animals that play human roles in the book have a wide variety from sweet to evil from funny to serious from hippo's to gerbil's.
Read the book!
I thought the book was good, I would give it 4 stars out of 5. I think this book is more for teens and adults as it does have some strange parts in it. I found most of the stories funny but some were disgusting, confusing or just plain bad. I would suggest that people who like to read, like animal stories and will read a couple stories that they might not like to read this book.
One of the stories I did like was called The Motherless Bear. A bear's mother died so she told everyone in the forest the sad tale, she figured out that if she told people they would give her food. One day she ate the special choke berries and everyone got mad at her so she ran away. She found a male bear dancing for a croud in a village. In the end she feels actual pain and suffering
and takes the males spot
as the dancer.
One of the stories I didn't like was about a chicken whos sister had been killed then she watched as guinnea hen was taken by a hawk. She also saw a snake eat a chicken egg. The chicken blamed it on how they were bad. One day the farmers wife killed the chicken.
