Bloomsday is celebrated on June 16th every year in Dublin and commemorates the work of the Irish author James Joyce and is called after the main character in his most famous work -- Leopold Bloom of Ulysses fame. On that day there are many cultural activities, including reading and visits to the places described in the book. Joyce's fans dress in costumes from the period .
