Frederick Douglas well known as former slave abolitionist and writer. After escaping he came to be a writer, orator, and statesman. After the Civil War he supported women's sufferage.

George Washington Carver is famus for his experiments with the different uses of the peanut but he did not create peanut butter. Hecame up with 249 uses of the peanut such as gasoline, dye and plastic material.

Martin Luther King Jr. was known as one of the best known black civil rights leaders in America. He helped start the Bus Boycott in Montgomery, Alabama. His most famous speech was called " I Have a Dream," was taken place in Washington D.C.
