Bible poster: Pauls letter to the phillipians

Number of chapters in the book: 4Type of Book: LETTER: Paul’s letter to the PhilippiansThe time frame that the book covers: A.D 61Main themes of the book: •Introduction 1:1-11•Paul’s personal circumstances 1:12-26•The life in Christ 1: 27-2:18•Plans for timothy and Epaphroditus 2:19-30•Warning against enemies and dangers 3:1-49•Paul and his philippian friends 4: 10-20•Conclusion 4: 21-23

The first and last verse: 1:1 “Paul and Timothy servants of Christ Jesus, To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons”4: 23 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen”

•1: 9 “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,”This verse spoke to me because it shows that God wants our relation ship with him to constantly grow as we become closer with him and gain a new and better understanding of him as time goes one. That is what I hope and wish will happen through out my life.

•2: 4 “not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”These are words that God told us to live by. Not to think of our selves but to always think of others and become selfless. This verse showed me the way God wanted us to live, and to treat each other. I hope if I begin to live like this, then a chin reaction will occur with the people around me.

•4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”This verse is very peaceful and wipes away all your fear. Its showing you that with the peace and humbleness of God it will enter our hearts and our lives and guide us through our lives. It’s showing that with God in our lives there is nothing to fear for he is always guiding us in the right path, if we let him take control of our lives.

Philippians

Shining as lights in the world 2: 12-18 Summary Paul is saying to continue to obey God in fear. For it is God who worked through us, to help complete His plan. Do everything without complaint so that you will be blameless and have a pure heart. Then you will shine as a child of God in a destroyed generation. Then you will see the rewards you gained and know that you didn’t work for no reason. You should be pouring out all the things God has taught us and rejoice in him forever.
