Benvenuto Cellini was born in Florince, Italy in the city of Medici. He grew up a well-educated, middle-class carpenter. But he always want to be a musician

The Perseus Holding the Head of Medusa shows Pereus holding Medusa's head that he cut off. This was a symbol of when Pegasus would be born.

The Salieri of Francis 1 was the first artwork that he did. It is a gold masterpiece that had the sea god, Neptune, and the goddess of agriculture, Ceres. This amazing artwork is supposed to symbolize "the interminglement of land and water."

Sadly, Benvenuto Cellini died at the age 71. But his legacy lives on all around the world. He's inspired many schools to teach his techniques. Even his most famaous artworks are put in museum.
