Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin was born on 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was one of our american leaders for almost 80 years. He is important to our country because of that and because he was one of our founding fathers, who is a vital part of our independnce from great britain. He was one of the people to help American colonies win the revolutionary war. Ben went to France and got them to send troops to the American colonists to help them win freedom from Great Britain. He informed the French that if the British won the war agaist the Americans, they would be too powerful. This would be bad for the French and for America. So the French sent supplies to the colinists through Benjamin and his spies.

In 1776 during the war Ben helped write the Declaration of Independence!
