Beethoven

During Beethoven’s lifetime many other important events took place. For example, the American revolution, the French Revolution, the war of 1812, the Louisiana Purchase, and much more.

Beethoven’s 5th symphony, the first movement is a classical piece of music. It lasts roughly 7 minutes and uses many instruments. These instruments include flutes, horns, trombones, trumpets, bassoons, clarinets, violins, violas, and cellos.

Beethoven’s father was a singer and got him into the musical world. Beethoven’s father was also his first teacher and made him learn to play the piano. Beethoven also learned to play several string instruments.

Beethoven wrote nine symphonies, the most famous being the fifth symphony. However he also wrote chamber and choral music, piano pieces, string quartet pieces, and an opera called Fidelio.

Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany on December 16, 1770. He was born into the classical era. Beethoven eventually traveled to Vienna, Austria, where he died on March 26, 1827 of liver disease.
