The theme of 'Because of Winn-Dixie" is Friendship.when Opal moved to a new town, she was lonely. She had no mom, a busy dad and no friends. The first friends she meets is the dog "Winn Dixie". Winn-Dixie and Opal become friends and he helped her make new friends. First, she met Miss Franny at the W. Block Memorial Library.Then, she met Otis at the Gurterd's Pet Store. Next, she met Miss Gloria Dump when Winn-Dixie ran to her house.After that, she became friedns with the Dewbery boys. At the end of the story, Opal made a lot of friends.

The story is written from Opal's point of view.Opal is talking about her life in the new town. She tells us about her adventures and who she meets with the help of her dog Winn-Dixie. Opal learns about their stories and makes new friends. It's about Opal's life, that's why it's important that she us her ideas and talks about her story.
