I am the founder of Georgia. My name is James Oglethorpe.

We are part of the southern colonies.

Other colonies in the south are North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland.

The main geographical features include mountains such as the Ridge-and-valley Appalachians in the northwest, the Blue Ridge Mountains in the northeast, the Piedmont plateau in the central portion of the state.

The climate of Georgia is typical of a humid subtropical climate with most of the state having mild winters and hot summers.

Today most of the population in Georgia practices Orthodox Christianity, primarily the Georgian Orthodox Church.

In 1733, James Oglethorpe founded Georgia. Georgia was founded for people in debt in England to have a place to start over

I am James Oglethorpe.

Georgia's main economic activities include the cultivation of agricultural products such as citrus fruits, tea, hazelnuts, and grapes; mining of manganese and copper; and output of a small industrial sector producing alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, metals, machinery, and chemicals.
