Battle of Lexington and Concord
On April 19,1775 the battle of Lexington and Concord began. But what was the cause of this unexpected battle, you may ask? Here are a few reasons. Firstly, the british militia originally travelled to Lexington and Concord looking for the stored weapons hid by the colonials, and secondly, to capture the Patriot leaders for their supposed "treason."
And how did the famous battle of Lexington and Concord end you may wonder? Though the british planned a surprise attack on the colonial's weapons and its leading Patriot leaders, the colonial minutemen fought bravely leading to the defeat of the British troops. Encouraged, the American army gained troop morale, ready to fight their next battle.
