Battle of Guildford Courthouse

Causualties:British lost around 550dead or wounded The americans had about 450

The Battle of Guilford Courthouse took place on March 15, 1781, in North Carolina. Although the battle was lost by the americans it was a very important turning point in the war for them because of the large amounts of casualties to the British. Lieutenant General Charles Cornwallis and his troops won a tactical victory against Major General Nathanael Greene. Although tactical victory went to the British the americans managed to take out 25% of the British troops something of which the British could not afford. The British won in two hours with around 1,900 troops against the American opposition who had some 4,400 to 4,500 troops.
