The Battle of Antietam happened on September 17-18, 1862. The battle was led by General Robert E. Lee from the Union and General George McClellan from the Conferderate Army. It was fought at Antietam Creek, which proved to be bad for the Confederate army because their back was to it. This battle was the bloodiest in the whole Civil War and it holds no definte winner. Though, the Union liked to say they won the battle. It was also the battle before Abram Licoln delclared the Emanciaption Proclamation.
