known as the oldest basilica of the Roman World

-Its a long rectangular structure which measures 226 by 86 feet.- two story closed structure with light that provided by windows high up on outer walls.- covered with a roof.

In 63 A.D an earthquake caused the roof to fall and it still continues to function without a roof.-August 24, 79 A.D Pompeii was buried and so was the basilica

Basilicas were large public buildings that served as buisness centers and law courts.the Basilica of Pompeii was located off the forum in Pompeii, Italy.
