Bacterial Cells

Comparing the two

Animal Cells

Similarities?

Comparing the two; we can see that although these cells may be very different, they have some slight similarities. Structures such as the Plasma membrane (the outer layer of the cell containing proteins and lipids), the cytosol (part of the cytoplasm where various organelles are located), chromosomes (which carry the cells genetic information), and ribosomes9helps the cel carry out protein synthesis) are all found in both cell types.................................................................................................................................................

Bacterial cells are prokaryotic cells. This means that they are small little individual cells that only need diffusion to transport intracellular materials as compared to the animal cell. Bacterial cells molecules float freely in their cytoplasm and undergo other molecules to create reactions that help keep the small bacterial cell alive.

Animal cells and bacterial cells are two different types of cells but are still linked by lines of descentfrom common ancestry.

Unlike bacterial cells, animal cells are eukaryotes. Therefore animal cells are much bigger than bacterial cells and need more organization to stay alive. This is where the animal cell's organelles come into play. It takes lots of different organelles in a animal cell to keep it functioning.
