Avian Flu

Bird Flu is a virus that commonly affects birds but has been known to effect humans. This disease was first recorded in Italy in 1878.

To treat this disease it is recomended to stay away from the source of exposure and to use antiviral drugs like oscltamivir, percimivir, and zanamivir.

It is transmitted through contact with live infected poultry, however,there have been very few reports of people transmitting it to other people.

The incubation period for the Bird Flu, in humans, is about 2-17 days.
