Autobiography

Washington Irving was a popular 19th century Author, born on April 3rd 1783 and died November 28th 1859. Irving was known for his stories such as The Devil and Tom Walker, Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and many others. Irving was educated privately and later persued to study law. In 1806 Irving went to New York for law but unfortunately barley passed the bar. A year later Irving and his brother started writing historical essays soon after Wahington became widely know for his comic work in 1809. In 1815 he moved to England to work with his brothers buissnes which unfortunately was a failure. After this he began writing many stories.1819-20,These stories became called ”The Scetchbook”. Ivring also went under the pseudonym name Geoffrey Crayon.
