1) Laura had a passion for writing and telling stories from age 9, when she knew she wanted to be an author.2) At 15 decided to be a designer like her older sister. Laura attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY 1 year before realizing its not for her.3) Amy for Short was Laura's first book published. It was originally an assignment for a class. 4) 3 favorite past times are to read, write and draw. 5) Ever since Laura can remember she has been and avid reader.
K-2 Comedy/HumorIf You Give a Mouse a Cookie is perfect for beginning readers and story time. This has a cute story line of what will happen if you a hungry little mouse a cookie. If you give him a cookie, he'll ask for a glass of milk. Then he'll want to look in a mirror to make sure he doesn't have a milk mustache and so on.
K-2 Comedy/HumorDogs Dont Wear Sneakers is a funny entertaining book. In the book dogs are shown doing silly this that are meant for people to do. The illustrations are humorous.
Fiction k-2Otis & Sydney..Best Birthday EverThe two characters in the book Otis and Sydney are best of friends. Otis wants to make Sydney’s birthday special this year and decides to throw surprise party with all of their friends. Things do not go as planned but Sydney still ends up having the best birthday ever.
Series k-2This is really a two in one story about What Mommies Do Best and What Daddies Do Best. The first part of the book shows mommies doing things that make them important. When the book is flipped it shows daddies doing similar things but in their own way. It really is heartwarming read.
Fantasy k-2Ponyella is a retold story if Cinderella. Ponyella just wants to show Princess Penelope her leaps and jumps but the other mean ponies say Ponyella’s chores make her to dirty to ever be a champion. With the help on Ponyella’s fairy godmare she gets her wish and Princess Penelope loves her.
Interview wit LAURA NUMEROFF1. Did not know what a circular story was until she went to a school and a teacher told her.2. Feels the children can see themselves in the charcaters.3. Picture books should be used more by children not the ipad. They can play and look a the ilustarions.
