Austrians have a rich and varied cuisine that is drawn from cultures such as the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Bordered by Czech Republic, SLovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Germany.

Each of Austria's states have the responsibility of their own public schooling. It's generally free for children ages 6 to 15. Compared to the U.S., Austria's children spend more time on schoolwork and value social activities and sports less.

Austrians love being outside. Walking, hiking, cycling, boating and swimming are popular activities. They are known for how well they are in winter sports.

Families are usually small, with parents and one or two children. Most Austrians expect to marry and have a family.

When Austrians date, it's usually one person at a time and the relationship is considered serious. Most dates are casual and often just eating out, going to movies, and dancing.The typical marrying age is between 25 and 28. Couples commonly live together before or instead of marrying.

Austria's government is a mix of presidential and parliamentary. They have a federal president, a federal chancellor - whom is appointed by the president - and the chancellor's cabinet.
