Australopithicus Afarensis

Love Lucy

My name is Lucy. I lived between 3 to 4 million years ago. I was found in the Afar triangle and forests in Eastern Africa. My species of hominid is called Australopithecus afarensis. Australopithecus means “Southern ape” because I am part ape and the name afarensis comes from the place where I was found, the Afar Triangle.

Some things about me, I am between 3 and 4 feet tall, I would call myself fun size. I have a plant based diet but also eat fruits and nuts to keep me fit and strong. I am one of 300 individuals of the species found by scientists. My ancestors, Australopithecus anamensis are very similar to me but we all know that I am better. We are so much more advanced

With my strong wrists and my curved gorilla like hands I can gather food easier and defend my loved ones, that could be you(wink) I can walk on two feet. I would love to take long walks with you on my 2 feet. My arms are long to help me climb trees and give warm hugs.
