Australia's Early Days
first elections for government in New South Wales.
Approximately 6,664 people, are living on 673 squatting stations, with 350,000 cattle and 1,200,000 sheep
The British government tries to bring back the transporting to the convicts.
A select committee of the NSW Government claims that protectors of Aborigines serve no purpose and abolished.
The end of transportation to mainland Australia, by which time some 150,000 convicts have been sent to the colonies.
History
An Australia-wide depression as the market in wool- the sole major export . Drought. London banks start to withdraw credit. Thousands are bankrupted and there is mass unemployment.
