When Adolf Hitler came to power and had taken over most of Poland in WW2, he ordered many death camps to be built around the country. Auschwitz was one of the biggest.
Auschwitz
Large numbers of peopl were crammed into cattle cars for train rides to the camp, that took nearly four days. Only a small bucket was given to hold bodily wastes. After these horrible trains stopped the Nazis at the camp stripped them down naked and cut off their hair, painfully. If you were healthy, you had a serial number tattooed on to your arm and would then be forced to work and sometimes selected for experimentation. If not you were sent to the "showers", where Pellets of Zyklon-B were dropped in and you would die a painful death.
