Astronomy and Astrophysics

*Astronomy is the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space and the physical universe as a whole.

*Astrophysics is the branch of astronomy concerned with the physical nature of stars and other celestial bodies.

Relationshipto math

Math is extremely important for any type of science, because numbers can be the best way to accurately describe things related to science. For astronomy, math helps by counting sources, entities or objects in the sky. Instruments used for looking at stars, were all related to math. The sun dial for one, which tells the day and time, needs to be oriented vertically, horizontally and aligned with the Earth axis, which are all mathematical topics.
