What Is It?Chronic disease that affects lungs and bronchial tubes making it hard to breathe
*Lining of airways swell*Swollen airways make mucus*Airways squeeze tight
Affects lungs and bronchial tubes
Symptoms:Shortness of breath,Chest pain,Choughing/ Wheezing,Difficulty Breathing
Causes:*allergens such as pollen, animal dander, and mold*Respiratory infections*Physical activity*Cold air.*Air pollutants such as smoke.
It Affects:~25.7 million Americans have asthma~2.5 million canadians have asthma~As of 2014, 1 of 11 children have asthma
Prevent asthma attacks by always having a inhaler
Asthma can get worse but usually it gets better as you age
There is no cure but treatments include inhalers and medicine.
