Asteroids
The first asteroid ever discovered was Ceres. Besides Ceres being the first asteroid ever found, it is also the largest ever found.
Asteroid - a small body of rock orbiting around a planet; often called a minor planet
This diagram represents what the layers in an asteroid are. The first layer, or outer layer is silicate minerals, followed by a mix of minerals and nickel-iron, and finally just nickel-iron.
Giuseppe Piazzi discovered Ceres, the first asteroid, on January 1st, 1801.

C-Type asteroids account for just over 75% of the known asteroids in the universe.
The average temperature of the surface of an asteroid is about 100 degrees Fahrenheit, or 73 degrees Celsius. Regardless of size or shape, that is the normal temperature.
