What is Assistive Technology?- Assitive technology is defined as "devices that extend the abilities of an individual in ways that provide physical access and sensory access" (Roblyer & Doering, 2013, p. 419). - Can be "no-tech" (training a student's body to help them), "low-tech" (making lists or using special pens), or "high-tech" (electronics- usually cost prohibitive) (Roblyer & Doering, 2013, p. 403).

Parents and educators must come together to decide which assistive technologies will best help a student when developing their educational plan.
