Artemis

General:Artemis was the daughterof Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She is one of the virin goddesses and is the goddess of the hunt and the moon.

Legend:Artemis was born on the island of Ortygia (Delos), where Leto had found shelter after being hunted Hera (The wife of Zeus). When she was born, she helped her mother give brith to her twin brother. Her mother then asked her father to grant her eternal chastity and virginity, making her devoted to hunting and nature.

Worship:Artemis was devoted by priests and priestessess and were bound to live pure and chaste. There were temples built for her and her brother.

Abilities:It was believed that Artemis were the protecters and punishers of mortals. They would send disease and evil if they wished. If they wished, they would also divert it from the mortals.
