GRAND CANYON
The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long from end to end! It is full of steep and rocky walls. In the Grand Canyon you can walk, hike, ride a mule, ride a bike, and even white water raft! It is so popular that more than five million people visit each year.
Cesar Chavez
Cesar Chavez was an Arizona born American farm worker, labor worker, and civil rights activists. Cesar was mostly known for his work as a Latino Civil rights activists in the United Farm Workers Association. The association got workers better wages in pay and better working conditions. This Arizonian born leader teaches us that one person can make a difference.
The secret to Arizona’s great tasting food is the items that are used that can only be grown in Arizona. For example, Saguaro and Prickly Pear Cacti can only be found in Arizona and they make really good tasting syrup. This syrup is often used in BBQ sauce and gourmet food restaurants in the state. Other popular foods in Arizona come from the Navajo Churro Sheep. The Sonoran hot dog is also popular.
The Arizona State Fair that takes place each year in mid-October. The fair has a number of different shows, events, and entertainment. It has around 75 amusement rides, 110 food booths and 300 sales booths. The fair is one of the top 5 state fairs in the country, bringing in over a million visitors each year.
