Arctic Wolf

Miscellaneous FactsThe arctic wolf can be found in the taiga biome of almost every continent. They live there along with many animals, including polar bears, lemmings, musk ox, moose, and rodents. Some of the prey of the arctic wolf are elk, hares, mice, caribou, and lemmings. The arctic wolf has to look out for its predators, including the polar bears, and some humans.

Food ChainThe diet of the Artic wolf consists of many things, including hare, elk, and musk ox. The main producers in this food chain are plants, like berries or twigs. The first level consumers are small rodents or birds, like hares or lemmings. They eat the producers. The second level consumers are the artic wolves. They feed on the first level consumers. The second level consumers are eaten by the decomposers. The decomposers are usually bacteria or fungi. When the second level consumer dies, if nothing else eats it, the decomposers feed off their nutrients. A food chain example starts with the producers, like berries. The first level producer, a hare, eats the berries. The second level consumer, an artic wolf, eats the hare. When the artic wolf dies, the decomposers, fungi, feed off it’s nutrients to keep it growing.

Shared ResourcesThe arctic wolf shares meat, like small rodents and deer, and shelter supplies, like trees and rocks, with many different animals. The arctic wolf shares the shelter supplies with other large predators. While the arctic wolf uses the shelter supplies for shelter, some of the predators use it for food or things to do with food. The arctic wolf also shares meat with predators. The predators use it fpr the same thing as the wolves, food.

Ecosystems The arctic wolf lives in the taiga biome of almost all continents. They adapt in cool areas where there is meat and plants. They live around several animals, including rabbits, lemmings, moose, bears, and caribou. They live in caves, mountains, rocks, and trees. They live in areas it would usually snow.
